CPD Academy is a flagship programme of the Initiative for Health Accountability and Transparency,  a registered Non-Governmental Organization founded to promote good governance and accountability in the health system in Nigeria.
Effective Leadership, Sound Management and Transparent Governance in healthcare has been relatively emphasized in recent years as a key to better health outcomes. It is reported that mere presence of health resources may not necessarily lead to desirable outcomes if management processes and practices are poor (World Bank 1998).
Considerable inadequacies are known to exist in leadership, management and governance processes and practices among health professionals. Consequently, many well intended health programmes do not achieve set goals. CPD Academy was established to provide a readily accessible and sustainable platform for training the next generation of health Leaders and Managers to effectively manage available health resources for better health outcomes have become most compelling and urgent.
Our Goal is to support stakeholders at all levels to enhance the leadership and management capacity of critical stakeholders and making substantial contribution towards improving the performance of the health system, health outcomes and the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
     The primary targets are current and future health leaders and managers, and all those aspiring for leadership and management role in the health system. This includes all cadres of health professionals – Medical Doctors, Nurses and Midwives, Pharmacists, Environment Health Officers, Laboratory Scientists and Community Health Practitioners; and students of health sciences.
Our courses are designed to:

• Expand access to learning materials on Leadership, Management and Governance (LMG) Processes and Practices
• Build and enhance critical leadership and management skills and competencies needed to lead and manage modern health system for better performance and outcomes
• Help health professionals by offering platform to learn at their pace and convenience.
